Professional Oklahoma Educators

Professional Oklahoma Educators member Brenda Turner of Jenks Public Schools was selected as Walmart Teacher of the Year by Walmart Store #894 in Tulsa.

A student submitted the nomination at a local Walmart store, and store officials presented Brenda with the award at a school assembly on September 26.  The school was presented with $1,000 in Brenda's honor.  She also received a certificate and $100 to use personally for her classroom.

Also this year, Brenda completed her National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist. She currently teaches fourth grade at East Jenks Elemenatry.
