ABOUT THE SERIES:

The Professional Oklahoma Educators Foundation and the Opry Heritage Foundation Oklahoma together founded this educational concert series in 2005. After three successful seasons together, the Opry Heritage Concert Series was expanded for the 2008-09 season, and is now managed entirely through the historic Centennial Rodeo Opry.

The Concert Series is a great way to introduce your students to the exciting world of music entertainment while meeting a variety of PASS requirements in the process. The professional musicians, technicians and other staff at the Centennial Rodeo Opry are preparing special LIVE performances to showcase the variety of styles that serve as a foundation for Oklahoma's unique music heritage.

From modern country to bluegrass to rockabilly, students can experience first hand the music that defines Oklahoma! Students will witness skilled musicians playing an array of instruments and have opportunities to talk with professional musicians, sound technicians and other important players in the music entertainment industry. This is one field trip that is more than just fun. The first hand experiences and personal interaction with the musicians themselves can make the history and culture of Oklahoma's music heritage come alive for students.
