Rick Beene

Mr. Rick Beene is the Superintendent at Achille Public Schools and has been in education for 35 years as a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. Mr. Beene holds degrees from both Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Fort Hays State University.  He also attended Oklahoma Christian University and the University of Central Oklahoma.

Mr. Beene had a colorful coaching career in basketball.  He guided five different schools to state tournaments including a state basketball championship in 1989, when he was named both the Daily Oklahoman and Oklahoma Coaches Association Coach of the Year. He had numerous coaching honors at the county, conference, district, state, and national levels.

Mr. Beene has 21 years of administration experience as athletic director, elementary principal, high school principal, and superintendent. He served as both President and Vice President of Southwest Oklahoma Administrators. Mr. Beene was named the 2015 Bryan County Administrator of the Year. While most of his experience is in public education, he does have experience in private education as well.

Mr. Beene and his wife Dana, a school principal, have been married 34 years. They have four sons. Nick is the head boys’ basketball coach and a teacher at Purcell.  Alex, a former teacher/coach, currently works for the Oklahoma City Thunder as the Business Intelligence Analyst. Nathan is a non-certified school employee and is completing his elementary teaching certification. Austin plays college basketball and plans to teach and coach.

Mr. Beene is a strong believer in education and the ability teachers and educators have in making a difference in the lives of children. He also believes that POE is making a huge difference in the lives of Oklahoma children and teachers and in education in general. Mr. Beene joined POE years ago because it was an opportunity for him, as an educator and a Christian, to be a part of an effort he could believe in and support.
